Lake Cliff

A nice vertical cliff with a short (though steep) approach, Lake Cliff sits on the eastern side of the ski hill mountain, overlooking Calabogie Lake. It hosts almost 50 sport and trad routes, and a handful of decent boulder problems.

Unlike the other climbing areas in the region, the cliff is on private land. Climb at your own risk. There are also seasonal closures due to nesting peregrine falcons.

Guide

All of the routes are documented on the Crag, along with information about the falcon closures.

Most of the boulder problems are described in the mini PDF guide linked below. Unlike the cliff, the boulders sit on Crown Land.

Location

The cliff is located just east of the Calabogie Peaks Ski Resort, and is accessed via the Barrett Chute Trailhead, on Barrett Cute Road.

Approach

You can find a climbing trail that leaves the right side of the parking and heads straight up the hill to the right side of the cliff.

You can also follow the main Manitou Mountain trail for a few minutes until you are below the left side of the cliff. Cutting up the hill into the woods will take you to the boulders and the left side of the cliff.
