Well worth the visit if you can manage the water approach, Cave of Wonders is a mostly sport crag featuring moderate to difficult routes. It features an awesome roof system to test your steep climbing skills and a beautiful vertical wall to test your technical climbing. Grades range from 5.8 to 5.14, with most routes falling between 5.10 and 5.12. Unfortunately, it does require a trip across Norcan Lake to get there.
Guide
All of the routes are well documented on the Crag.
Location
Cave of Wonders is located in the middle of a nondescript forest on the eastern side of Norcan Lake. It is accessed by crossing Norcan Lake from a small parking area on Norcan Lake Rd, about a 20 minute drive west of Calabogie Peaks Ski Resort.
Approach
From the launch area, the approach involves a 2 km paddle across Norcan Lake, followed by a 500 meter hike to the cliff. Detailed directions are documented on the Crag.
